Naturopathy is a system or method of treating illness & disease that employs no surgery or synthetic drugs but uses food as medicine, specialised diets, herbal medicine, nutrient therapy (supplements) lifestyle changes, and counseling, where appropriate, to assist the natural healing processes of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body.
Nutrition is the science that interprets the nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health, and disease of the body. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism (breakdown) of molecules, and the excretion of waste from the body.

An initial consultation is usually 60-75 mins depending on the complexity of the case and covers a comprehensive look at your health picture.
Follow-up consultations help me to assess how your treatment protocol is going and allows for a more accurate look at your individual systems and how they are functioning. Adjustments to your initial protocol can be made if indicated and more specific support to remaining health concerns can be addressed in more detail. Follow-up consults help you to recognise the progress you are making on your health journey and are essential to maintain the motivation needed to be accountable for your wellbeing.
This may include a review of any results and/or get a script made up.
In a consultation I work with you to identify underlying cause/s of your health concerns by investigating your signs and symptoms, your health/lifestyle goals, past medical history, family history, and body system function including; energy levels, stress levels, sleep quality, immune function, reproductive health, lifestyle habits, digestion, and diet. The information gained is compiled together like a jigsaw puzzle to help make sense of why the existing concern/s have occurred and to make a plan on how to restore your body back to its optimal function.
I then create a report for you with the recommendations I’ve made based on your individual needs and this may include any of the following; dietary support, supplements, lifestyle, resources, further investigations, and a follow-up review time.
Most Naturopath’s work with the natural cycles of your body and base your healing around the length of blood cycles, which on average is about 120 days as this is how long it takes for every red blood cell in your body to renew itself (roughly 4 months). For this reason, it will be likely that you will need to revisit your naturopath for follow-up consultations at certain intervals throughout the 4 month period to make sure you are on track to reach your health goals.
As each person is completely individual there are no set timelines for healing. Some body systems will need longer than others to reach their optimal health and this will be dependant on many factors that your naturopath will discuss with you in your consultation.

Using food as medicine is an essential quality that Grace brings to her consultation, recognising that the body needs whole foods and a wide variety of good nutrition packed full of micro and macronutrients so that it can heal from the inside out.
She understands how our mental, emotional and spiritual spheres influence our physical body and can have a large impact on our everyday functioning, for example, everyday stress can create blockages on our path towards health, healing, longevity, vitality, and well-being.
